India, May 6 2021 A 34-year-old woman in The Indian state of Rajasthan was left heartbroken after her father died in a Coronavirus when she jumped into a crematorium at her father’s funeral, causing severe burns.
The woman’s father, Damodardas Sharda, died April 27 at a local hospital from a coronavirus infection, India Today reported Friday. Police say There was a tragedy when Damoda was cremated on May 2 when his youngest daughter, Chandra Sharda, jumped into a fire. Although she was pulled from the fire, about 70 percent of her body was still burned.
“Damoda’s wife passed away not long ago, he had three daughters, and Chandra was determined to personally send her father’s body to the crematorium for his last trip,” said Prem Prakash, a police officer with kotwali police. The woman jumped into the fire because she was too sad to accept her father’s death.
