April 4th – On theĀ 3rd local time, Indian security forces and armed personnel exchanged fire in Chetisgarh.
After three hours of gunfight, at least five Indian soldiers were killed and more than 20 were seriously injured.
According to India Today and the Indian Express on the 3rd, the fierce clashes between the two sides took place in the Bijapur area of Chetisgarh.
Local police said that the security forces were attacked by Naxal anti-government forces, and in addition to five Indian soldiers who were killed and more than 20 seriously injured, there may be nowhere to be found.
Nine ambulances and two Mi-17 helicopters then went to the scene for rescue.
Police told the Indian Express that two armed men were killed in a gunfight.
It is reported that this is not the first time that Indian security forces have been attacked recently.
On March 23 local time, Indian security forces were attacked by improvised explosive devices in Chetisgarh, killing at least 5 security forces and injuring 15 others.
