Amman, April 3 The Jordanian armed forces issued a statement on the 3rd denying rumors about the arrest of Hamza bin Hussein, Prince of Jordan, but saying that it was required to stop activities aimed at national security and stability.

According to Jordan’s Petra News Agency, Yousuf Hunati, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian armed forces, said in a statement that the move was carried out under a comprehensive joint investigation by Jordanian security agencies. As a part of this action, Hassan bin Zeid, a member of the Jordanian royal family, and Basim Awadala, who had served as the Minister of Finance and Planning, have been arrested.

“No one can be above the law, and Jordan’s security and stability are above everything,” Hunaiti said. He said that the relevant investigation is still in progress and the results of the investigation will be open and transparent.
