In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, a man brutally abandoned his mother on the side of the road after she was diagnosed with Coronavirus, leaving the elderly man’s daughter behind, leading to her death. The police have filed a case for prosecution.
The old man, who lives in Kanpur with his son Vishar, recently developed symptoms of breathing difficulties and was diagnosed with Coronavirus, India Today reported Tuesday.
After her mother’s condition deteriorated, Vishal left her outside her sister’s house and fled the scene, fearing she was infected with the virus. However, the old man’s daughter was reluctant to look after her sick mother, refusing to take her into the house and leaving her by the side of the road.
Local residents saw the elderly man lying on the side of the road, and videos were posted to social media, sparking a flood of attention. The video shows the old man lying alone on the road outside a house, wrapped in a blanket.
Upon learning of the news, the police rushed to the scene and took the elderly man to the local Ursula Hospital for treatment, but the elderly died during the treatment.
Local police chief Anup Singh said that after seeing the online video, police rushed to the scene to take the elderly to the hospital, the investigation found that the elderly were abandoned by their children. The police have opened an investigation into the deceased’s son.
