The report shows that India is still the country with the largest number of deaths due to traffic accidents in the world, while the country that reported the most traffic accidents in 2019 was the United States, with 2,211,439 incidents and 37,461 deaths.
Indian media pointed out that in the traffic accidents in India, the main cause of death is speeding. In terms of transportation, two-wheeled motorcycles caused the highest number of deaths. Young people between the ages of 18 and 45 accounted for nearly 69.3% of the deaths, while those between the ages of 18 and 60 accounted for 84.3%.
The report also found that curves were not the road that caused the most deaths in India: 96,624 people died on straight roads, and 2,141 people died on curves.
