Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffinsberg said Monday that his office was unlikely to investigate his weekend phone calls with Trump, but said that Atlanta district attorneys may still launch a criminal investigation.
With Trump speaking to Rafinsberg in person on Saturday and recently speaking with the chief investigator in the Secretary of State’s office, Rafinsberg said in an interview with ABC Monday morning that “conflicts of interest” would block any potential investigations.
Legal experts and lawmakers expressed shock at Trump’s call Saturday, in which the president pressured the Secretary of State to “find” enough votes (11,780 votes) to overturn Biden’s victory in Georgia.
