According to French media reports, local time on the 13th, France and Ukraine reached four intergovernmental procurement agreements. The agreements, worth about 1.3 billion euros , are mainly used by France to purchase 130 Alstom-produced power locomotives, 370 ladder fire engines and water stations from Ukraine.
Of the 1.3 billion euros, 590 million will come from French state borrowings and another 555 million euros from credit from the National Bank of France, the finance ministry said. The four agreements still need to be approved by the parliaments of the two countries before they can enter into force.
Ukraine has long needed French political support in the face of Russia. The Ukrainian government has spent 500 million euros on 55 civilian helicopters from Airbus Group in 2018.
