Chile’s Minister of Health Enrique Paris pointed out at the pandemic briefing on the same day that the country has an average of more than 4,000 new cases in a single day in the past seven days, and the pandemic prevention situation is serious, so the public cannot relax their vigilance.
In addition, he said that the government may further tighten the pandemic prevention policy and adjust the “vacation permit” regulations in areas with severe pandemic.
Under the current regulations, Chilean residents in “non-compulsory quarantine areas” can apply for a “vacation pass” and go to other cities that implement the same or more relaxed pandemic prevention measures.
