Canadian media has tarnished and defamed China in pursuit of and fleeing stolen goods. Chinese Embassy in Canada: I am strongly against it. He advised the individual media to observe professional ethics

The spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Canada made a statement on the “Globe and Mail” slander and smear China’s work in pursuit of escape and stolen goods

On November 10, the Globe and Mail published an article titled “The Canadian Security Intelligence Agency warned China’s “Fox Hunt” to target the Canadian Chinese community.” The article ignores the basic facts and uses ulterior motives to slander and smear China’s international pursuit of escape and stolen goods and the fight against transnational crimes. China firmly opposes this.

It is the consensus of the international community to cooperate in combating transnational crimes, including corruption, and to refuse to provide “safe havens” for criminal suspects and illegal funds. It is a just cause of maintaining and promoting the rule of law to carry out international pursuit of escape and stolen goods.

In recent years, China has cooperated with more than 120 countries and regions to recover escaped suspects. During the cooperation, they strictly abide by international law and international judicial law enforcement practices, fully respect the judicial sovereignty of other countries, carry out cooperation, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of criminal suspects in accordance with the law. They have received extensive support and sufficient sure.

“The Globe and Mail”‘s smear of China is simply untenable. We once again advise individual Canadian media to abide by professional ethics and stop making irresponsible remarks.
