on January 25, President Joe Biden signed an executive order allowing transgender people to serve in the U.S. military. In a statement, the White House noted that
Biden believes that gender identity should not be a barrier to joining the military and that America’s strength is reflected in its diversity.
It will also immediately end involuntary separations, discharges and denials of enlistment based on or related to gender identity.
