On the 7th, Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, announced that the IOC temporarily banned Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus and President of the White Olympic Committee, Victor Lukashenko, Vice President of the White Olympic Committee, and another official from participating in all activities of the International Olympic Committee. In addition, the International Olympic Committee will stop funding the White National Olympic Committee and only give financial help to the country’s athletes.
Belarus expressed concern about the statement of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee that the IOC may be under political pressure when making its decision.
