A spokesman for the U.S.-led anti-extremist group International League said on the 15th that at least three rockets were attacked near Erbil International Airport in the Iraqi Kurdistan Autonomous Region on the evening of the 15th, killing one person and injuring several others, including one U.S. military member.
It is reported that there is an American military base near Erbil International Airport, and it is not known whether the base is the target of the attack. The Minister of the Interior of the Kurdistan Autonomous Region issued a statement confirming the news of the attack.
For security reasons, Erbil International Airport has been closed and flights to and from have been suspended. No organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.
