The World Health Organization said on the 15th that the international expert group on traceability of the novel coronavirus has reached a consensus with its Chinese counterparts on the joint traceability summary report.

Expert group leader Peter Ambarek stressed that further research is still needed in the future to obtain more evidence, and accordingly explores all hypotheses about the source of COVID-19.

Ambarek said at the press conference on the same day that the expert group had reached agreement with its Chinese counterparts on the summary report on the last day in Wuhan, especially the main conclusions, findings and recommendations of the report.

In the next few days, the expert group will first complete the interim report with its Chinese counterparts, and then write a detailed report in a few weeks, including the technical details, background, research methods and other descriptive parts of the report.

Ambarek stressed that this report is a joint report jointly completed by the international expert group and Chinese counterparts.

It is not a judgment by one party on the conclusions made by the other party, but reflects the consensus reached by the two sides on the main findings, conclusions and recommendations.

He also said that the Panel of Experts does not exclude any hypotheses about the source of COVID-19 at present, and will regularly evaluate assumptions in the future based on new evidence and research progress.
