An explosion occurred opposite a police station in a downtown area in Rawalpindi near the Pakistani capital, injuring at least 25 people.
The area has been sealed off, and officials from the anti-terrorism department and forensic experts have arrived at the scene.
Initial investigations indicated that this was a grenade attack, but the police said it was too early to determine the nature of the explosion
But it cannot be ruled out that it was terrorist attacks on civilians.
According to witnesses, the attackers threw grenades at the crowd from the three-wheeled motorcycles.
The injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
The police are currently investigating.
