Russia’s first demonstration of “Pioneer” hypersonic intercontinental missile

December 13, local time, Russian Red Star TV broadcasted the first video of the Russian “Pioneer” hypersonic intercontinental missile.

This was the first time that the media had the opportunity to shoot this type of missile at close range. 

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously stated that the “Pioneer” missile can fly at 20 times the speed of sound, has gliding maneuverability, and can easily break through the US missile defense system. 

Russian Strategic Rocket Force Commander Sergey Karakayev said on the 13th that by the end of 2020

the modernized weaponry rate of the Russian Strategic Rocket Force will reach 81%.

According to the plan, three intercontinental ballistic missile regiments will be on duty this year.
