At least 18 people have been killed and many others injured in a serious fire at a Coronavirus hospital in the Baruch district of gujarat in western India in the early hours of the morning, New Delhi TV and other media reported on May 1.
According to the local police, May 1 at about 1 o’clock, the first floor of the hospital burst into flames, the local fire and rescue department immediately rushed to the scene to carry out rescue work, the fire was brought under control within an hour.
Rescuers rescued about 50 patients from the scene of the accident and successfully transferred them to nearby hospitals, some of them in critical condition. Rescuers also searched the scene for the bodies of 18 victims, most of whom died in the fire and smoke.
According to the police, the cause of the fire is not clear, pending further investigation.
