Twenty-four patients are being treated for oxygen shortages and complications from lack of oxygen at a public hospital in the Chamara Janagher district of the southern Indian state of Karnataka, the Hindustan Times and other media reported on May 3.

In the past 24 hours, the hospital has reported 24 deaths, including several Coronavirus patients, local media reported Wednesday morning. Government officials in the area told the media that the government is currently waiting for the patient’s cause of death related to the examination report.

It is reported that Karnataka Chief Minister Yed Jurapa has been in urgent talks with the local government and hospitals and other departments to understand the specific circumstances of the incident.

It was also reported that the local government has denied that the death of the patient is related to the lack of oxygen supply, the authorities are conducting a further investigation into the cause of death.
