About 5.6 million confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Brazil. Government grants relief funds to nursing homes
According to data released by the Brazilian Ministry of Health, as of 18:30 on November 4th local time, a total of 5,590,025 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Brazil, 23,976 more confirmed cases, 161,106 deaths, and 610 new deaths For example, the cumulative number of recovered people is 5064344.
In response to the pandemic, the Brazilian government this week officially issued relief funds to the country’s nursing homes with a total amount of 160 million reais (about 190 million yuan) to help the elderly in the hospital fight the pandemic.
The bill on this bailout was approved by Brazilian President Bolsonaro in June of this year, but then because the president had objections to some of the provisions, the payment was not available until 4 months later.
It is reported that the funding will benefit nearly 70,000 elderly people in 2,118 pension institutions in the country.
This money will be used for nursing homes to prevent and control the Coronavirus pandemic, purchase medical consumables, ordinary killing equipment and medicines, and set up isolation areas for suspected and mild patients with new Coronavirus.
