A grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia, indicted Atlanta-area shooting suspect Robert Aaron Long on Monday on murder charges. Lang, 21, is suspected of three shootings that killed eight people, including six Asian women.
Fulton County District Attorney Fanny Willis said Monday that she will bring racially and gender-based hate crimes against Long and seek the death penalty.
The indictment relates only to the March 16 shootings at two spas in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Long’s alleged shooting at a massage parlour in suburban Atlanta on the same day will be decided by a Cherokee County grand jury.
