Alex, a four-year-old boy from Somerset, England, has a cyst on his face and is grapefruit-sized. The cyst pressed his face and airways, affecting his speech, walking, breathing and eating.
Recently, Alex underwent another operation to reduce the cyst, and then he took the first step without any help. Doctors had previously said his cyst was too big, affecting his sense of balance, and learning to walk would be difficult. Mother Emily said the little boy had “gone through it.”
Mother Emily, who discovered her son had a cyst at 20 weeks of pregnancy, was scared of what her unborn child looked like, but when she was born, Emily said she fell in love with him immediately.
