Bangkok, April 13 According to Thai media reports, at about 00:30 a.m. local time on the 13th, a two-decker tourist bus in Konkweong Province, northeast Thailand caught fire, killing five people, including two children, and injuring 12.
Local police said that there were 34 people on the bus at that time. Among the injured, bus drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Survivors told the police that the bus departed from Wengan Province to Bangkok via Ulong Province and Kongjing Province. During the section of the highway where the accident broke down and caught fire, and the fire quickly spread to the engine compartment and the whole bus.
Then rescuers and fire trucks arrived and took about half an hour to control the fire. The crashed bus was seriously damaged.
At present, the specific cause of the bus fire is still under investigation.
