A Canadian man was arrested by Greek police on suspicion of helping 25 illegal immigrants enter the country
According to local media reports on November 21, a 45-year-old Canadian man was arrested by police on Lesbos in the northern Aegean Sea on November 20 for allegedly assisting 25 illegal immigrants to land on the Greek island.
According to reports, on the 17th of this month, the police on Lesbos, Greece, received an email from a non-governmental organization, saying that stowaways from the Turkish side had arrived at the beach near the village of Palios on Lesbos by boat.
Greek police immediately launched a search, and finally found 25 illegal immigrants not only in the woods near the village of Parios, but also the Canadian and three German journalists. After investigation, no evidence was found to be linked to the smuggling incident, so they were released.
