In the early hours of April 28, local time, a number of bomb attacks hit the Thawet Chaung bridge in the town of Mohnyin, Kachin State, which was divided into railways and roads and was severely damaged by bombs.

Located between Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-largest city, and Myin Indochina, the capital of Kachin state, the bridge is an important gateway between central and northern Myanmar.

Several bridges in Myanmar have been hit by bomb attacks since February, some of which have been repaired.
