Algeria deeply deplores the serious violations of the ceasefire agreement in the buffer zone of Gilgilat.
The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an announcement on the 13th, expressing its strong dissatisfaction with the serious violations of the ceasefire agreement in the buffer zone of Gail Qilat in Western Sahara and calling for an immediate cessation of these armed conflicts.
The announcement stated that Algeria called for an immediate ceasefire because these actions may affect the stability of the entire region. Azerbaijan calls on both parties to the conflict-the Kingdom of Morocco and the People’s Liberation Front of Western Sahara, in a restrained and responsible attitude, and fully abide by the ceasefire agreement they signed with the United Nations.
Recently, the Moroccan government accused the Western Saharan People’s Liberation Front of setting up roadblocks in the Gailgelat buffer zone, blocking the passage of trade and personnel exchanges between Morocco and Western Africa. Earlier in the day, the Moroccan military stated that it had taken military action to remove roadblocks and restore the passage.
