According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan, a man in his 40s living in Gifu Prefecture was diagnosed with a stay in Sri Lanka. When the man entered Japan on December 4, he tested negative for the novel coronavirus at Narita Airport Quarantine Institute. Then he returned to his home in Gifu Prefecture by car.
Later, he was tested for nucleic acid because he was identified as a close contact of a confirmed case, and then he was diagnosed with the Omikron strain. The man has fever, burnout and other symptoms, and is currently receiving treatment in medical institutions. In addition, the man has been vaccinated twice.
