Aug. 20 2021 The day before the Taliban took over Afghanistan, a British student arrived in Afghanistan, claiming that the trip was for “adventure” and that he wanted to do something different. However, he was trapped when he tried to leave and at one point broke down.
Miles Lautlich, a 21-year-old British student, shared his trip on a social media platform, Business Insider reported Tuesday. A video released by Mr. Lautlich shows Mr. Lautlich showing signs of “danger” as Afghan President As Afghan President As of Ghani left Afghanistan and the Taliban entered Kabul on August 14, people went to the bank to withdraw money. He bought a robe to hide his identity and went to some embassies to find that none of them were open.
On 15 August, Rautlich was unable to find consular support at Kabul airport and fortunately subsequently arrived at a United Nations security house. On 16 August, he boarded a British military aircraft to leave Afghanistan and returned to the UK after a transit in Dubai, where he is currently in quarantine. Many critics have accused Mr. Lautlich of traveling to Afghanistan only for “fun” and accused him of taking away many Afghan citizens still trapped in Kabul. Many Afghans who want to leave are not getting the same opportunity.
