PARIS, May 8 2021 Seven people were killed in two avalanches in the Alps of the southeastern French province of Sava on Wednesday.
According to French media reports, around 11 a.m. that day, two groups of tourists in the town of Valouar in Sava province, an avalanche, four of them died, one survived. The local government mobilized mountain rescuers and two helicopters from the National Gendarmerie to participate in the rescue.
At around 2 p.m., another avalanche occurred in the mountains between the towns of Villarog and Pesenancroix, killing three tourists.
