April 26 2021 U.S. President Joe Biden will celebrate his 100th day in office at the end of April, while just over half (52 percent) of Americans approve of Biden’s job performance since taking office, according to a new poll. That’s just ahead of former presidents Trump (42 percent) and Ford (48 percent), and the third-lowest of any president since 1945.
A Washington Post/ABC News poll released Friday found that 52 percent of Americans said they approve of Biden’s policy actions so far, while 42 percent disapprove.
According to the Washington Post, the only recent president with a lower approval rating than Biden during his 100 days in office is former President Donald Trump. Mr. Trump’s approval rating for his first 100 days in office is 42 percent, and in some polls it’s as low as 36 percent.
Biden’s approval rating in the Washington Post/ABC News poll is broadly in line with two other polls released on the morning of the 25th. Biden’s approval rating is 53 percent in the NBC News poll, compared with 54 percent in the Fox News poll.
Since taking office in January, Biden has faced many challenges, including promoting the new crown vaccine and dealing with the large number of undocumented immigrants along the southern border, especially unaccompanied minors. Biden also proposed a huge infrastructure plan.
On these issues, pollsters say they want Biden to work with Republicans rather than pass legislation without Republican support. Sixty percent of Americans said Biden should “fight to win the support of Republicans,” while only 30 percent said Biden should “try to implement the plan without major changes.” ”
Biden’s approach to dealing with the new crown epidemic has won the most approval in the polls, and a majority of respondents disapprove of his handling of immigration at the border.
The Washington Post/ABC News poll, conducted April 18-21, interviewed 1,007 U.S. adults with a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
