At 8 o’clock local time on April 11, the referendum on amendments to Kyrgyzstan’s Constitution officially began, and the vote will end at 20: 00 on the same day.
According to a report by the Kyrgyz Kabar News Agency, SHAILDA Bekova, chairman of the Kyrgyz Central Election Commission, said on the same day that in order to ensure that the voting will be held smoothly under the unfavorable conditions that the COVID-19 epidemic is still not effectively controlled, the relevant departments will conduct ventilation and disinfection operations at the polling stations and plan the election reasonably. \
The route of civilian progress should minimize contact with people. In addition, a total of 3,500 medical personnel are on duty at polling stations in the country.
The referendum has 2,435 polling stations in Kyrgyzstan and abroad, with about 3.6 million voters. The effect of the referendum is premised on voter turnout not less than 30%.
The revision of Kyrgyzstan’s Constitution mainly focuses on two parts: first, it clearly stipulates that the state government is a presidential system, and second, it reduces the number of parliamentary seats from 120 to 90.
In addition, on the 11th, Kyrgyzstan held local council elections at the same time.
