In the early morning of April 8th local time, Israel carried out air strikes on the Syrian capital Damascus. Syrian media reported that a total of four Syrian government soldiers were injured in the air raid.
At about 01:00 local time on April 8, the reporter of the main station heard a loud explosion at his residence in downtown Damascus, and then saw anti-ballistic missiles launched by the Syrian air defense system take off from the western region of Damascus.
Syrian state television quoted Syrian military sources as saying that this is the interception of missiles launched by Israel by the Syrian air defense system. The report also said that the air strike was launched by Israel from Lebanese airspace. The Syrian air defense system has shot down most of the Israeli missiles, but four Syrian government soldiers were still injured in the air strike, and the air strike also caused other material damage.
Israel has long designated Iran to expand its power in the Middle East, saying that it cannot tolerate Iran turning Syria into a forward position against Israel, and repeatedly attacking targets in Syria on the grounds of attacking Iranian military facilities. Syria and Iran deny that Iran has a garrison in Syria.
