April 8th – On April 7th, local time, a senior official of the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, died in a hotel in Nairobi. Kenyan officials believe that this is a suicide.
According to the New York Post on April 7, local police and witnesses pointed out that the unidentified official did not go to work on time and his mobile phone did not answer in time. Embassy staff then went to check his situation and found that he died in a hotel in Nairobi.
“The body was found hanging near the window of the room, but he was dead long before the security personnel arrived,” a police officer present told the media. Some media said that the U.S. official obviously used a belt to hang.
It is reported that the deceased left a suicide note by the bedside and will be investigated by the police. At present, the U.S. State Department has not responded to requests for comment from the media.
