According to local media reports, on the 19th local time, Lebanese Forces Party Chairman Jaga issued a statement challenging the termination of the former investigating judge Savan in the Beirut port bombing.
Jaga called on the President and the Prime Minister of the caretaker government to immediately apply to the Secretary-General of the United Nations for the establishment of an international commission of inquiry to reveal the truth of the port bombing.
On the same day, the families of some of the victims of the bombing continued to demonstrate in front of the Ministry of Justice to protest against the court’s decision.
The day before, the Supreme Court of Lebanon announced that in view of the two former ministers accused questioned Savan’s neutrality on the grounds that the house of the Beirut port bombing investigation judge Savan was damaged in the bombing, the investigation of Savan’s case was terminated and transferred to another judge under the relevant provisions of the criminal law.
