On the afternoon of February 19, local time, a small U.S. plane crashed into a semi-trailer truck near
Los Angeles Harbor in San Pedro, California, killing at least one person.
According to media photos, the engine of the crashed aircraft and the damaged
front of the fuselage were separated from the rest of the plane.
The only passenger on the plane died on the spot, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, and one of the injured person on the truck has been taken to a hospital in Southern California, with serious injuries.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it was investigating the cause of the crash and it was unclear whether specialized investigators would be sent to the site of the incident.
