Japan’s Toyota Motor Company announced on the 16th that its 14 vehicle production lines in Japan will be suspended due to the impact of the 7.3 magnitude earthquake in the eastern waters of Fukushima, Japan.
It is reported that Toyota currently has 15 vehicle factories and 28 production lines in Japan.
According to Toyota, the production lines involved in the shutdown are distributed in nine factories in Japan.
The production lines have been suspended for different times.
The earliest production will start on the 17th of this month, and the longest shutdown period is four days.
At the strong epicenter of the 13th, Fukushima Prefecture and Miyagi Prefecture were seriously affected by the proximity to the epicenter, and the supply of some local auto parts manufacturers stalled, affecting vehicle production.
The operation of production lines of many models such as Toyota Lexus has been affected.
