Hassan Al-Tamimi, the Iraqi Minister of Health, said at a press conference on the 15th that the test results of the Central Public Health Laboratory in Baghdad showed that Variant novel coronavirus had been found in Iraq and the new strains spread rapidly in Iraq.
Hassan called on the people to strictly abide by the epidemic prevention measures of the High Committee on Health and National Security, and to deal with the rapid spread of Variant viruses by reducing family gatherings and crowd gatherings, wearing masks and other measures.
Hassan also stressed that according to the decision of the High Commission, the health team will sink to the streets and markets from the next day (16th) to impose fines on those who violate epidemic prevention measures.
In response to the accelerated deterioration of the epidemic, on the 13th of this month, the Iraqi High Committee on Health and National Security announced that a curfew will be imposed again across the country between February 18 and March 8.
Curfews are imposed from 20 o’clock to 5 o’clock the next day from Monday to Thursday, and a curfew is imposed from Friday to Sunday.
