New York Attorney General urges U.S. Food and Drug Administration to set standards for toxic metal content in baby food

According to Reuters, on February 9th local time, James, Attorney General of New York, called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (the U.S. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken action to set standards for toxic metals in all baby food (not just rice noodles) and requires food manufacturers to test the toxic metal substance content in finished products after production.

The FDA has not commented immediately at present, but last week they said they would “firmly commit to continue to reduce consumer exposure to toxic elements and other pollutants in food.”

According to a report released by the U.S. House of Representatives on February 4th local time, the products of several well-known baby food groups in the country have “too high toxic heavy metals to dangerous levels”, which far exceed the limits set by the Food and Drug Administration and the United States Environmental Protection Agency for bottled water.
