Singapore Airlines delayed receiving new aircraft ordered

by YCPress

February 9th local time, Singapore Airlines announced that it had reached an agreement with Airbus and Boeing that Singapore Airlines would delay the receipt of new aircraft ordered.

This allows SIA to delay some of its spending.

SIA said that the new aircraft ordered from the two companies will be received in more than five years.

This will allow Singapore Airlines to defer payment of more than 3 billion USD from fiscal year 2020/21 to fiscal year 2022/23.

SIA believes that the COVID-19 pandemic has subverted the demand for air travel, and SIA will also adjust the speed of increasing its carrying capacity.

SIA promises that it will retain its commitment to use the new generation of passenger aircraft to further improve operational efficiency and strive to reduce carbon emissions while providing good services.

This will help SIA consolidate its position in the aviation industry as it recovers from the pandemic in the future.
