February 9th – On theĀ 9th local time, the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee announced the countermeasures for the Olympic Games to prevent COVID-19 infection, requiring athletes to be tested for the virus at least once every four days.
According to Kyodo News Agency of Japan and other media reports, the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee stipulates that although vaccination is not compulsory, the above rules must be followed regardless of whether the vaccination is inoculated or not.
The Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee has also made it clear that if the relevant rules are repeatedly and seriously violated, they may be disqualified from participating in the Olympic Games.
The Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee previously stipulated that athletes need to be screened for COVID-19 72 hours before leaving for Japan, and they should be tested again after entering the country.
Once the screening results are positive, they will immediately inform the pandemic prevention coordinator to consult with Japan.
A athlete who does not live in the Olympic Village must also enter the village for testing. Once the result is positive, they should be hospitalized for isolation immediately.
Affected by the pandemic, the Tokyo Olympic Games originally scheduled for July 2020 were postponed for one year. However, the global pandemic has not completely subsided this year.
Since January 14, the IOC has held regular online meetings to explain the pandemic prevention plans of the East Olympic Committee.
