Seoul, February 6 South Korea’s pandemic prevention department announced on the 6th that it would relax some pandemic prevention measures in non-capital area, allowing restaurants and other crowded gathering places to extend the business hours to 22:00.

According to the information released by the Central Disaster Safety Response Headquarters of South Korea on the same day, the South Korean government decided to maintain the current pandemic prevention level in various places until February 14, that is, Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province and other capital area to maintain 2.5 levels, and non-capital circles to maintain level 2.

At the same time, considering that the normalization of the pandemic has a great impact on the economy and the steady decline in the number of new confirmed cases in non-Capital Circle, the government decided to allow restaurants, cafes, gyms, KTVs and other places in non-Capital Circle to extend the daily business closure time from 21:00 to 22:00.

However, the Central Disaster Safety Response Headquarters suggests that in the capital circle, the number of confirmed cases increased by an average of 258 this week, a slight increase from last week.

At present, the momentum of the national pandemic has stagnated, and there is a risk of the pandemic spreading again, especially in the capital circle.

Therefore, South Korea will continue to implement measures to prohibit gatherings of five or more people throughout the Spring Festival holiday.

According to the report of the Central Anti-pandemic Response Headquarters of South Korea on the 6th, on the 5th, there were 393 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Korea, with a total of 80,524 confirmed cases; 5 new deaths, a total of 1,464 deaths; and a total of 70,505 cured cases.
