January 15th local time, the British Scientific Advisory Group on Emergency released the latest data, and the R value of COVID-19 transmission in the UK remained between 1.2 and 1.3.
The Emergency Scientific Advisory Group said that despite the decline in R in some areas, the number of COVID-19 cases remains “high”, and the number of new cases per day is increasing at a rate of 2% to 5%.
The R value is an indicator used to determine the speed of transmission of COVID-19, representing the average number of people who continue to infect others for each person infected with the virus.
