According to the Russian satellite news agency on January 14, Venezuelan Globovision TV quoted Vice President RodrÃguez as saying that Venezuela will produce Russia’s “Sputnik V” coronavirus vaccine in its own country.
Rodriguez tweeted: “In accordance with President Maduro’s instructions, we held a videoconference with the general manager and deputy general manager of the Russian Direct Investment Fund on the supply of the ‘Sputnik V’ vaccine and production in Venezuela in the first quarter of 2021.”
Venezuelan President Maduro said earlier that Venezuela will receive the first 10 million doses of “Sputnik V” vaccine from Russia in the first quarter of 2021, which will be provided to nationals free of charge.
