Canada is shocked by the “medieval assault”: a man armed with a Japanese sword killed 2 people
[Global Times Comprehensive Report] On the evening of October 31, local time, an attack occurred in Quebec, Canada.
A man wearing a “medieval costume” armed with a knife assaulted at least two people and injured five others. The man has been arrested by the police.
According to reports from the BBC and Agence France-Presse
on November 1, the assailant was 24 years old.
He wore a “medieval costume” and carried a Japanese sword in a residential
area near the parliament building last Saturday night.
Since the attack happened on the eve of Halloween, the man’s costume did not attract the attention of others at first.
Residents in this area have been asked by the police to stay indoors and not to go out.
Canadian police said the man had nothing to do with terrorist organizations.
