December 25th local time, a factory exploded in Hamilton, a famous industrial city in Ontario, Canada.
Thick smoke rose above the explosion site, forming a huge yellow-brown smoke cloud. Police said that the explosion did not cause casualties.
The explosion reportedly occurred at 300 Wilcox St at more than 11 a.m. local time.
The factory that exploded was called Dofasco Stelco Hamilton, which belongs to the Arcelor-Mittal Group, a world-renowned steel conglomerate with steelmaking enterprises in Hamilton.
According to Marie Verdun, spokesman for Arceló-Mittal-Dofasco, the cause of the fire was the slag pit eruption.
The accident did not cause casualties.
Sheri Ovis, a nearby resident, said that she heard three loud noises.
When she went out to see rusty clouds rising into the air.
Other residents said that it sounded like the sound of a bomb explosion.
Local police said that the smoke and clouds caused by the incident quickly dissipated without any security consequences and environmental impact. Therefore, the police also did not block traffic.
But police and firefighters have been cleaning up at the scene.
