According to a statement released on the Kremlin website on the 21st, Putin pointed out at the expanded ministerial meeting of the Russian Ministry of Defense on the same day that by mid-December, modern weapons accounted for more than 70% of the Russian army and 86% of Russia’s nuclear deterrence. The Russian army and the “Trinity” nuclear force have reached a level that can guarantee the security of the country.
Putin said that the development rate of important areas of the armed forces worldwide is extremely fast, and the development of the Russian army cannot stagnate. He instructed that the proportion of modern weapons in Russia’s nuclear deterrence should reach 88.3% by 2021, and the proportion of modern weapons in the Russian army should reach 75.9% by 2024.
“Trinity” nuclear force refers to the ability of a country to attack land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles, submarine-launched ballistic missiles and strategic bombers at the same time.
