On December 8th local time, the protests launched by Indian farmers received a response from many industries and most opposition parties across the country. On the same day, a strike and a strike were held throughout India.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., public transportation, wholesale markets, commercial blocks, railways, etc. in many parts of India began to strike.
Indian farmers have protested in New Delhi since November 26 to oppose the three government bills on agricultural reform.
Farmers asked the government to repeal these three bills and maintain the current “minimum support price” (MSP) system. So far, the government and protest farmers have held six rounds of negotiations, but to no avail.
For the past two months, Indian farmers have been protesting against the “Farmers Act” passed by the central government of India by blocking roads, railways, etc.
Farmers believe that the bill will put farmers at the mercy of large companies. But the Indian government claims that the reform will bring more benefits to farmers.
