The U.S. Supreme Court of Wisconsin refused to hear Trump’s team’s lawsuit about election results.
On December 3rd local time, the U.S. Supreme Court of Wisconsin said it rejected the lawsuit filed by current President Donald Trump for the withdrawal of Wisconsin’s election results certification.
The Wisconsin High Court ruled at a 4:3 ratio that the case must be heard by a lower court before the High Court can decide. That means that the Trump campaign’s lawsuit to nullify 221,000 votes in the two Democratic majority counties in the state was rejected.
The Trump team had previously asked the Wisconsin Superior Court to disqualify the state’s two counties for more than 221,000 ballots, claiming that mail-in ballots were administered irregularly.
The Trump team wants the Wisconsin Supreme Court to take the case directly, saying they don’t have time to make claims through normal legal channels given the Electoral College will vote on Dec. 14.
It is unclear whether the Trump team will continue to investigate through the lower court.
