December 3rd , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates announced that before the visa exchange and exemption agreement between Arab and Israel officially enters into effect, Israeli passport holders can activate their visas to enter the United Arab Emirates through airlines and tourism offices.
Previously, the two countries signed a visa waiver agreement in October, allowing citizens of the two countries to exchange visa-free visits.
The Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates approved the agreement on November 1 and the Knesset on November 22, and the agreement should enter into force on December 22 according to the relevant laws of the two countries.
With the official opening of two-way commercial direct flights between the two countries on December 1, the United Arab Emirates took temporary measures in advance to allow Israeli citizens to enter the country.
