Azerbaijani President Aliyev claimed that the Azerbaijani army had destroyed six S-300 air defense missile systems in Armenia.

He said, “Our drones are destroying Armenian tanks and other military equipment. So far, we have destroyed more than 230 tanks, 6 S-300 air defense missile systems and hundreds of armored vehicles.”
Not long before Aliyev made the above statement, US Secretary of State Pompeo met with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington. The Armenian Foreign Minister said that the issue of deploying peacekeepers in the Naka region is currently under discussion.
Azerbaijani President Aliyev believes that he does not object to the introduction of observers and peacekeepers in the Naka region, but the Azerbaijani side will put forward its own conditions.
Aliyev also said that the OSCE Minsk team will make recommendations on the composition, timing and number of observers and peacekeepers in the Naka region.
A new round of conflict broke out in Armenia and Azerbaijan on September 27 over the Naka issue. On October 10, after Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov launched his final mediation in Moscow, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to a ceasefire, but they later accused each other of violating the ceasefire agreement.
