The official website of the Ministry of Health of the Lebanese caretaker government announced on the 21st that 4,594 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 67 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the highest number of deaths in a single day since the epidemic.
At present, a total of 269,241 cases and 2,151 deaths have been confirmed in Lebanon.
According to local media, on the 21st, Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Diab presided over the ministerial committee meeting of epidemic prevention and control to assess the prevention and control effect of the areas in this round of blockade.
The committee announced that it will continue to increase the number of ICU beds in public and private hospitals to treat more infected patients.
According to the report, Lebanon’s national medical system is overloaded.
So far, at least 11 doctors have died of the virus, and another 300 medical personnel are in isolation.
Recently, Lebanese Health Minister Hassan sued the directors of several public hospitals in the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office for the delay in setting up COVID-19 clinics, especially with intensive care beds.
