26 bodies were found at the dam break site in Uttarakhand, India. The number of missing people is about 200.

According to media reports such as India’s Asian International News Agency, as of 22:30 local time on February 8th, the police department of Uttarakhand said that 26 bodies had been found; the number of missing people was about 200, 35 of whom may be trapped in a tunnel.

This morning local time, search and rescue personnel began to work on the construction site of a tunnel 5 kilometers downstream of the dam break.

At noon, the debris at the entrance of the tunnel was cleaned up and the search and rescue personnel could enter, but because of the mud in the cave, the search and rescue progress was slow.

As of the time of press release, no contact had been made with the trapped people in the cave.
